Franchise Activity

The What’s New group is a national chain of retail stores specialising in the sale of gifts, novelties and licensed merchandise.

There are currently 25 stores located in major shopping centres in the Eastern States of Australia. Of these stores, the company owns and operates 9 stores with the remainder being franchised.

WHAT'S NEW shops are the established place to buy the latest gifts, hottest fad or craze as well as everyday gift items.

Franchising

One of the strengths and most important features of WHAT'S NEW is the support given to the franchisees by Management. WHAT'S NEW has considerable experience in site selection and lease negotiation. No store is opened when success is doubtful or if it infringes on an existing franchisees area.

Some of the senior members of the WHAT'S NEW Franchise Management Team have been working with the group for more than 15 years. Franchisees are in constant contact with Management for support and advice on merchandising, display, pricing, stock control, decorations, new products, staff and all aspects of running a WHAT'S NEW store.

 


 

 

Merchandise & Buying

WHAT'S NEW stores are the best place for people who are looking for something different that is reasonably priced, novel and interesting. WHAT'S NEW shops are the established place to buy the latest gifts for both ladies, men and kids, as well seasonal novelties and especially the hottest fad or craze.

Each WHAT’S NEW store has a unique and carefully selected merchandise mix, made up from a range of suppliers. The WHAT'S NEW range has been evolving for many years through the combined efforts of both management and franchisees, and new products are continually being sourced.

All Franchisees are encouraged to buy their own merchandise provided each item is consistent with the WHAT'S NEW concept. Purchases are organised by Management but conducted on a store by store basis. Each area is different and the stock in each shop must be tailored accordingly. Many successful new products have been introduced by franchisees.
